Alice L. Johnson, 68, of Horton, Kansas passed away on August, 28, 2008 at her home. Alice was born on November 7, 1939 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Lloyd & Mildred Smith Madison. Alice worked as a secretary for Knouse Accounting, in Horton, Kansas, for over forty years. She was a member of the N.E. Kansas Quilters Guild. Alice enjoyed quilting, raising flowers and visiting with her family and friends. On August 30, 1958 she married Fred Johnson Jr. at the United Methodist Church in Horton, Kansas. Alice is survived by her husband, Fred Johnson Jr. of the home; three sisters, Betty Bewley of Atchison, Kansas, Dot Green of Kansas City, Missouri and Esther Weber of Otterville, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Johnson, parents, two brothers, Lloyd Madison Jr. and Richard Madison. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Monday from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, Kansas. Memorials may be sent to the Alice Johnson memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
