Betty Lou Hampton, 72, of Rushville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at her home. She was born on December 16, 1939 in St. Joseph, Missouri the daughter of Gardner and Esther Anscomb Best. Betty was a homemaker. On March 12, 1960 she married Joseph Hampton in St. Joseph, Missouri. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Betty Jo (Ed) Maxwell of Horton, Ks. and Kenisa Hampton of Rushville, Mo.; three sons, Dennis (Cathy) Hampton of St. Joseph, Mo., Randy (Nancy) Hampton of St. Joseph, Mo. and Porter (Calley) Hampton of Atchison, Ks.; two sisters, Phyllis Emmons of Overland Park, Kansas and Trudy Beaston of Oregon; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenny Joe, six brothers, Ed, Jerry, Ross, Ernie, Burdell and Bob Best and three sisters, Sally, Corrine and Beverly. Betty was a triplet with Beverly and Burdell. Funeral services will be at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends one hour prior to services.
