Carol Ann Weir, 62, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at her home. She was born on October 5, 1948 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Clyde Ernest and Brita Marie Johnson Weir. Carol worked for Pillsbury in Atchison, Kansas for a number of years and then went to work at Fort Leavenworth Army Lodging and housekeeping services. Carol attended the First Christian Church and the First Baptist Church in Horton. Survivors include her husband, Paul Thornton of the home; three sons, Jason and Kim Weir of Holton, Kansas, Justin Weir and Preston Thornton both of Horton, Kansas; brother, Michael and wife Judy Roll of Parkville, Missouri and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be at 2:30 on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Carol Weir memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
