Catherine M. Plummer, 96, of Horton, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Horton Community Hospital. She was born on January 22, 1914 in Whiting, Kansas the daughter of Harris and Lena Fiester Gordon. Catherine owned and operated, with her husband, Plummer Radio, TV and Appliance Store in Horton for twenty five years. She also had worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney's. She was a member of the St. Leo's Catholic Church, Altar Society and the Hiawatha Elks lodge. On February 4, 1936 she married Theodore "Ted" Plummer at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1990. She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Lang of Denver, Colorado and Winnie Poff of San Antonio, Texas; special caregiver, Sherry Stirton of Horton, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jim Gordon and a sister, Mary Shelton. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary with visitation to follow. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery.
