Charlene Jane Goodman, 67, of Leona, Kansas, passed away on March 18, 2012 at her home. She was born September 2, 1945 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of Charles and Minnie Goodpasture Couchman. On November 2, 1968 she married Arthur Goodman Sr. in Marion, Indiana. Charlene was a glassmaker at Foster Forbes in Indiana. After moving to Leona in 1981 she worked as a certified nurses aide and medical aide at the Maple Heights Nursing Center in Hiawatha. Survivors include a daughter, Kristy Stroh of Leona, Kansas; son, Thomas Cowan of Hiawatha, Kansas; two sisters, Christina Ingram of Robinson, Kansas and Agnes White of La Fountain, Indiana; two brothers, John Couchman of Sedalia, Missouri and David Couchman of Gas City, Indiana; seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur on July 25, 1997, son, Arthur Jr., four brothers, Marshall, Dick, Russell and Freddy Couchman and a sister Lela Riddle. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the services.
