Charles William Kiehl, 84, of rural Horton, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. He was born on April 13, 1926 in Muscotah, Kansas the son of Fred & Mildred Bushey Kiehl. Charles was a farmer and stock man all his life. On August 17, 1947 he married Phyllis Rogers in Horton, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2007. Survivors include four sons, Kevin & wife Diane Kiehl of Horton, Kansas, Dr. James and wife Michelle Kiehl of Shawnee, Kansas, Rich & wife Linda Kiehl of Horton, Kansas and Don & wife Lori Kiehl of Meadville, Missouri; one daughter, Sharon & husband Jim Zwonitzer of Horton, Kansas; brother, Donald & wife Roberta Kiehl of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Betty Bales of Muscotah, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Kiehl. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M.
