Charles "Chuck" Wilson, 80, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on June 4, 2013 at the Maple Heights Nursing Center in Hiawatha, Kansas. He was born on August 6, 1932 in Horton, Kansas the son of Henry and Ellen Chase Wilson. Chuck served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. For over thirty years he was a floor covering installer and owned Wilson Floor Covering in Horton, Kansas. He then went on to become head custodian for USD #430 South Brown County for twenty five years. Chuck was a member of the First Christian Church where he served as deacon and board chairman of the new church building committee. Chuck was a member of the Horton American Legion, avid hunter and fisherman, active with the Horton Little League and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On May 29, 1954 he married the love of his life, Arlene Kiefer in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Connie (Tim) DeWitt of Horton, Kansas and Cindy (Wayne) Rush of Troy, Kansas; son, Tim (Angie) Wilson of Horton, Kansas two sisters, Evelyn Trimble of Fort Worth, Texas and Elva Horn of San Diego, California; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 7 to 8:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery.
