Obituary

Cynthia Lynn Oak, 50, of Muscotah, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Kansas Research Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on January 10, 1962, in Hiawatha, Kansas the daughter of Tom and Connie Kimmi Wilson. Cynthia was a RN Nurse and was the director of nursing at various facilities in Northeast Kansas. She was a member of the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Effingham, Kansas, Prairie Picker's Association, Kansas Old Time Fiddler's, Pickers, and Singer's Association, she was the lead female vocalist for the Stoney Point Country Western Band and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Survivors include her husband, Mike Oak of the home; father, Tom Wilson of Muscotah, Kansas; son Michael and (Krystal) Taylor of Leavenworth, Kansas; brother, Tim and (Amy) Wilson of Platte City, Kansas; sister, Angela and (Hossein) Orangifard of Prairie Village, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Connie Wilson. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Effingham, Kansas where the family will greet friends following the rosary. Funeral mass will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday at the St. Ann's Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at the Muscotah Cemetery.
