Obituary

David Allen Salverson, 54, of rural Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010, at the Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. He was born on April 4, 1956 in Horton, Kansas the son of Selmer and Shirley Schlagle Salverson. Dave graduated from Horton High School in 1974 and then attended Atchison Vo-Tech for Auto Mechanics. He returned home to help his Dad with the family farm. While farming, Dave also owned and operated Salverson Farms Trucking, and currently operated a Fertilizer Applicator with Ag Partners. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Everest, Kansas, serving many positions and was currently the President of the Rural Water District #2. On July 10, 1976 he married Elaine Schuetz in Everest, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Elaine of the home; two daughters, Dana and husband Jesse Shirley of Olathe and Stacie and husband Daric Schroeder and granddaughter, Quinn of Lawrence; sister, Sue and husband Dennis Beyer of rural Hiawatha, Kansas, and brother-in-law, Roger and wife Melody Schuetz of Olathe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and Big Dog. Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Everest, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton.
