David Laurance Small, 73, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Horton Community Hospital. He was born on October 11, 1943 in Horton, Kansas the son of Laurance and Ione Denton Small. David attended Mound Valley country school east of Horton, Kansas. David attended the Horton Christian Church and the Willis Christian Church. He loved golf, riding his bicycle, taking pictures and supporting Horton High School athletics. He was an avid supporter of the State of Kansas. Survivors include three sisters, Virginia Miller of Houston, Texas, Charlene Branch of Willis, Kansas and Rise` Hoffman of Denton, Kansas; sister-in-law, Sharon Small of Sabetha, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jon Small. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Horton City Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Saturday at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 and then go in procession to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Horton Ambulance fund or the Mission Village Living Center and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
