Obituary

Donald James Dalberg Sr., 63, of Everest, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at his home. He was born on March 3, 1947 in Richland Center, Wisconsin the son of Burford and Marjorie McMillen Dalberg. Don worked for several foundries prior to joining the U.S. Army were he served in Vietnam and Germany. After his years in the service he worked as a security guard and then became a law-enforcement officer for the McClouth, Kansas Police Department. He then went on to be a professional photographer for a number of years until he discovered his passion for the open road and became an over the road truck driver. Donald was a member of the Wrap An Andy Hug Foundation, avid Chiefs fan/collector, enjoyed fishing, hunting, country music and spending time with grandchildren. On February 3, 1973 he married Barbara Harding in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Della Dalberg-Folsom & husband Gary of Robinson, Kansas and Fawn Stirton & husband Jason of Everest, Kansas; two sons, Mike Driscoll of Leavenworth, Kansas and Donald Dalberg Jr. & wife Alicia of New Lisbon, Wisconsin; brother, Richard Dalberg of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren, a 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jeff Driscoll and grandson, Andy Dalberg. A celebration of Life Service will be at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas with visitation to follow. A private burial will be held.
