Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Ray, 69, of Muscotah, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at her home. She was born on September 5, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Raymond and Rowena Schultz Pierson. Elizabeth was a homemaker and worked as a waitress at the Muscotah Café. She was a member of the Circleville Christian Church. Elizabeth was quite an artist, enjoyed quilting, fishing, camping and spending time with her family. On April 20, 1963 she married John Thomas Ray in Dennison, Kansas. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Tina Torkelson of Robinson, Kansas and Tammy Sinclair of Muscotah, Kansas; four brothers, Walter Pierson of Riverside, California, Francis Pierson of Holton, Kansas, Robert Pierson of Aurora, Missouri and Dana Pierson of Tonganoxie, Kansas; three sisters, Alice Alexander of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Norma Jean Peacock of Slocum, Alabama and Terry Myers of Pinedale, Wyoming and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Torkelson and two great grandsons, Tanner Ray Sinclair and baby James Reynolds. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
