Obituary

Ethel Tyler Ketter, long time resident of the Mount Pleasant community, Horton, KS went to be with her Heavenly Father July 11, 2011.
Ethel was born April 22, 1919 in Atchison County, Kansas, daughter of Otto Orlando Tyler and Catherine Bell (Shuck) Tyler. Her parents and 9 siblings preceded her in death. Ethel worked at Wilbur's Grocery Store in Horton, the garment factory in Horton, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for many years. She married Glenn Ketter on February 26, 1947. Glenn also preceded her in death.
Ethel enjoyed cooking , sewing, reading Zane Grey and spending time with her family. Her family was blessed that for all of her 92 years she shared these activities and her kind gentle nature with them.
These words found in Catherine Tyler's obituary are a fitting memorial to her daughter Ethel also: "The angels came in silent tread, and gathered around her earthly bed. To shining courts far, far above, they bore her in their arms of love. But someday when the veil is lifted and the lower clouds away have drifted, dear mother, we'll all see you again where there is no bitter pain. Whatever else we fail to do, we'll never fail to think of you."

She will be greatly missed by her survivors, daughter/son Susan (Ketter) and Jamie Schesser and her two grandsons Jacob Schesser and Joel Schesser.
Her body has been cremated with services to be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested in her name and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary, 909 Central Horton, KS 66439.
