Evelyn M. Smith, 94, of Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Health Care Resort of Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on February 1, 1930, in Seneca, Kansas the daughter of William Edward and Mary Runyan Sale.  After graduating from high school, Evelyn married Ross Raymond Smith on May 23, 1948. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1967. She worked as a bookkeeper and an accountant for Conmaco Construction until she retired in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Ross (Regina) Smith of Louisburg, Kansas and Richard Dean Smith of Kansas City, Kansas; two grandsons and one great grandson. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dixie Mitchell, four brothers, Keith Sale, Jake Sale, Lloyd Sale and William Sale and one great grandson, Lincoln Ross Smith. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
