Floyd "Bob" Christie, 71, of Effingham, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Select Medical Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on February 3, 1942 in Horton, Kansas the son of Clarence and Elsie Tuttle Christie. Bob worked for the Water Shed District in Atchison and El Dorado before going to work for Conagra and Bunge Milling in Atchison, Kansas. He served on the Effingham Volunteer Fire Department for years. On December 7, 1962 he married Nancy Kelley in Effingham, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Dave Christie of Hiawatha, Kansas and Dean Christie of Troy, Kansas and two grandchildren, Jacob Christie and Lacey Christie. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Memorials may be sent to the Effingham Senior Citizens and may be sent in care of the mortuary. Burial will be at the Old Huron Cemetery.
