Gary Lee Coen Sr., 61, of Everest, Kansas, passed away on June 1, 2008 at his home in rural Everest, Kansas. He was born on December 23, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Jack Wilbur & Bernadette Skalmowski Coen. Gary worked for the Atchison Community Hospital in the maintenance department for over 20 years. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam Era and the Army National Guard in Hiawatha, Kansas for years. On January 7, 1967 he married Louise Gratton in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughter, Lynette Orzech of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; son, Gary Lee Coen Jr. of Gardner, Kansas; brothers, Jack Coen of Kansas City, Kansas and Bernard Coen of Robinson, Kansas; sister, Tina Coen of Leavenworth, Kansas and three granddaughters, Sierra Coen, Danielle Orzech and Alexandra Orzech. Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas.
