George "Jud" Eugene Peabody Jr., 88 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Windsor Hills Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. He was born on October 3, 1922 in Kennekuk, Kansas the son of George and Janie (Morgan) Peabody. George graduated from Effingham High School in 1940 and Washburn University in 1956. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge. On May 19, 1946 he married Dorothy McClanahan in Effingham, Kansas. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2010. George was a lawyer and served as the Assistant District Attorney for the State of Kansas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Abdallah Shrine and the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Nichols of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three sisters, Bonnie Anderson of Muscotah, Kansas, Vernetta Moore of Atchison, Kansas and Betty Hart of Leawood, Kansas; granddaughter, Bambi Nichols of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Jayde, Harley and Austin. He was also preceded in death his parents, brother, Frank Peabody and five sisters, Dorothy Peabody, Mary Poos, Helen Justice, Viola Weaver and Genevieve Worden.
