Gerald "Jube" Lee McKinney Jr. 35, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at his home. He was born on February 16, 1975 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Gerald & Marlis Bearstail McKinney Sr. Jube worked in construction as a general laborer. He was a member of the Native American Church, Three Affiliated Tribes of New Town, North Dakota, Native American Drum Group and the Parshall Boxing Club. On February 10, 2006 he married Stefani Gomez in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include his father, Gerald McKinney Sr. of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters, April McKinney and Sharol McKinney both of Horton, Kansas, four nephews, Fred Dillon, Bryan McKinney, Koylen McKinney and Joaquin McKinney; two nieces, Ariel McKinney and Cori-Anne McKinney. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlis Bearstail, grandparents, Charles & Benedictina Bearstail, Melvine Banks and Leonard McKinney. Native American Church Services will be held at Wayne Jessepe's home on the Kickapoo Reservation at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, May 7, 2010. Burial will be on Saturday morning at the Mason Cemetery.
