Gordon William "Na-Ma-Tti-Se-A" Pewamo, 56, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Manor Care Health Services in Springfield, Missouri. Gordon was born on May 28, 1956 in Horton, Kansas the son of Louis and Elvena Sacquat Pewamo. Gordon was a general laborer and worked in construction most of his life. He served with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe and the Drum Religion. Survivors include a son, Isaac Pewamo of Bloomfield, New Mexico; daughter, Elisa Pewamo of Farmington, New Mexico; two brothers, Lionel Pewamo and Jeffery Pewamo Sr. both of Horton, Kansas; three sisters, Cecelia Pewamo-Pluta and Lois Millentree both of Topeka, Kansas and Lawana Sacquat-Castro of Kansas City, Kansas; two step daughters, Ceva Decoteau and Claudeen Decoteau both of Sisseton, South Dakota; two step sons, Brian Decoteau and Darrell Decoteau both of Sisseton, South Dakota; seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cleone Pewamo, two brothers, John and Chester Pewamo Sr. Drum services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Kickapoo Community Building.
