Harold Eugene Delzeit, 67, of rural Everest, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on September 7, 1946 in Denton, Kansas the son of Raymond and Betty Horner Delzeit. Harold attended school in Denton, Everest and Horton, Kansas. He was a dozer operator for Marlatt Construction for three years before starting his own dozing business. He also worked for Midwest Grain Products for twenty six years before going to work for the Atchison County road and bridge highway department for sixteen years retiring in 2012 because of illness. On May 18, 1968 he married Sharon Ann Swendson at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Effingham. They made their home in Brush Creek community for over forty five years. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home; two daughters, Patricia (Ken) Wells of Meriden, Kansas and Kimberly (Matt) Dorssom of Lancaster, Kansas; two granddaughters, Jessica Wells and Kiley Dorssom and grandson, Jerod Wells; three brothers, Ray Delzeit of Silver Lake, Kansas, Bill Delzeit of Horton, Kansas and Bob Delzeit of Rushville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Effingham, Kansas. Burial will be at the Monrovia Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
