Heather Ranae (Craig) Brown, 44 of Haysville, Kansas passed away unexpectedly at the hospital in Hiawatha, Kansas on Sunday, September 1. 2019 while visiting with her parents and family. Heather was born on April 20, 1975 in Wellington, the daughter of Tom and Sonja Craig. She lived in Haysville, Kansas most of her life.  She went to school there and graduated from Campus High School in 1993.  She attended Butler Community College and Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.  She graduated from Friends University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Heather started working at Taco Tico at the age of 15 and worked there for 7 years while going to school and raising her son, Jordan.  She then went to work at Dillards for a short time until she was hired at Boeing in 1997 and worked there until 1999 until she was laid off. Heather met the "Love of her Life", George W. Brown in 1995 when he was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita.  George and Heather were married on July 31, 1999.  They lived in Haysville, Kansas with their sons Hunter Brown and Jordan Emerson.  George was stationed to Germany in October 2000.  The lived in Orsfeld, Germany while he was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Force Base.  Then they moved to Bitburg, Germany where their son Thomas was born in 2001 and lived there until 2004 when her husband was then stationed to Dyess Air Force Base and lived in Abilene, Texas.  Heather and the children moved back to Haysville in 2005 to start setting up the house to prepare for Georges retirement in 2006. Their daughter, Elizabeth was born in Wichita in March 2007. Heather loved to go shopping.  She was always looking for a good sale and was very good at finding the bargains.  She loved spending time and doing things with her family.  Heather  looked forward to going to The Lake of the Ozarks every year to her Uncle Bruce and Aunt Aleica's cabin for the "Craig Family" weekend.  There would normally be around 16 people there.  She enjoyed being on the lake swimming, boating and watching her kids ski and go tubing, or just sitting on the deck visiting with everyone.  She was a" BIG" Alabama fan. She attended 2 concerts and was wanting to attend one that was coming up in Wichita in September.  She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower beds.  Yellow roses were her favorite, but she enjoyed all color and types of flowers. Heather loved children.  She babysat as a teenager and she opened a Day Care in her home in 2005 until 2016 when her health stated to decline. Heather is survived by her husband of 20 years, George of the home, sons, Hunter Brown of Marcy, New York; Jordan Emerson of Haysville, Kansas; Thomas Brown and daughter, Elizabeth Brown of the home. Parents, Tom and Sonja Craig of Powhattan, Kansas; brother, Shaun (Jami) of Haysville; Grandmother, Evelyn (Couch) Dodge of Hiawatha, Kansas; Aunt, Aleica Moore of Topeka, Kansas; Carol Barton of Horton; Uncle, Tim Craig of Horton, Kansas; Niece, Meeah Ecklund; Nephews, James, Damien, and Ryan Craig of Haysville, Kansas; Special cousin/sister Anna Woodward of Lenexa, Kansas; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Rick and Linda Landry of Claremont, New Hampshire; Brother-in-law, Steve (Fonda) Brown of Bellows Falls, Vermont; Sister-in-laws, Sue (Bill) of Springfield, New York; Georgianna (John) of Sullivan, New Hampshire; Tracy of Bellows Falls, Vermont; Linda of Manchester, New Hampshire.  Heather had several other nieces and nephews in the northeast. Heather was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Hugh Couch; Jim and Marcella Craig and Special uncle, Bruce Moore. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 4:00 at the Haysville Christian Church; 1306 W. Grand Ave, Haysville, Ks. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 2:00 - 4:00 at the home of Tom and Sonja Craig, 1402 Falcon Road, Powhattan, Kansas.
