Hildreth Goze-zee-quah Crith, 88 of Topeka, Kansas passed away on September 16, 2011 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on February 26, 1923 on the Kickapoo Reservation the daughter of Joseph and Mary Green Shipshee. Hildreth worked for the Topeka State Hospital for thirty three years as a mental health tech. During her lifetime Hildreth attended Haskell Indian Junior College where she received an Associate of Arts Degree at Washburn University she also received an Associate of Arts Degree. She then received a degree in Alcohol and drug dependence from the University of Utah. Hildreth then went on to work as a counselor for I Care and Prairie Band Potawatomi drug and treatment center. She was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe, American Legion Post # 415 Kii-Kaa-Poa-Wa-Ta-The-A and enjoyed dancing and demonstrating how shawls and craft items are made to the children at the Shawnee Allied Tribe. In June of 1964 she married Juan Crith Sr. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Gerald Green of Omaha, Nebraska; step son, Juan Crith Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona; step daughter, Waverly Aishew of Dothan, Alabama; sister, Arlen Wahwasuck of Horton, Kansas; two granddaughters, Hildreth Green and Nicole Green-Parker both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Wamego and Lavina Masquat and two brothers, Edward and Patrick Shipshee. Kennekuk Church services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Kickapoo Community Building.
