Ivan Harold Hochstetler, 84, of Horton, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Horton Community Hospital. He was born on April 21, 1926 on the family farm near Fairview, Kansas. Ivan was a carpenter, woodworker and enjoyed farming on the side. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Carpenter's Union. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Hochstetler of the home, Horton, Kansas; a son, Dr. Gary & wife LeAnna Hochstetler of Topeka, Kansas; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Emily Hochstetler of Topeka, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Cynthia Hochstetler, three brothers, Donald, Lloyd and William Hochstetler. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Ivan Hochstetler memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
