Jacqueline Begesse, 62, of Everest, KS died Monday evening, July 8, 2013 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born November 15, 1950 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of James and Phyllis Glassgow Nelson. She grew up in Holton, KS and graduated with the class of 1969.

She worked as a Paraprofessional for the Horton Elementary School for almost 10 years. More recently she worked for the Golden Eagle Casino in Horton, KS as a Fill Banker until her health forced her to quit.

Jackie married Vernon Begesse February 25, 1972 in Holton, KS. They lived most of their married life in the Everest, KS community. He survives of the home. She enjoyed camping and fishing, watching wildlife, watching drag racing, and woodworking.

Other survivors include her adopted mother, Virginia Nelson of Holton, KS, a daughter, Tonya Begesse and Chuck Moore of Everest, KS, two brothers, J.D. Nelson of Holton, KS, and Rod & Sharon Stroup of Holton, KS, four sisters, Gayla & Vaughn Gurley of Peraland, TX, Rose & Claude Ener of Pasadena, TX, Pam & Ron Pasley of Mt. Hope, AK, and Debbie Wesselman of Blue Springs, MO. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Leo D., Brianna T. Bricen L., and Dylan A.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Nelson.

Funeral Services are planned for 11 A.M. Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, KS. Interment will follow at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Whiting, KS.

Friends may call the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary after 10 a.m. Thursday where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. that evening.
