Obituary

Jean A. Jamvold, 98, of Horton, Kansas passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas. She was born on August 31, 1912 in Mainville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Levin & Emma Nuss Gearhart. Jean graduated from Everest High School. She married Magnus Jamvold on January 29, 1936 in Kansas City, Kansas. Jean was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Upper Wolf Lutheran Church, enjoyed cooking, canning, her chickens, cats and spending time with her family. Magnus preceded in her in death in 1976. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Nelson of Troy, Kansas and Joan Ann Christensen of Carrollton, Texas; son, LeRoy & wife Opal Jamvold of Troy, Kansas; two sisters, Pearl Mydland of Independence, Missouri & Thelma Daringer of Shawnee, Kansas; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Kenneth Jamvold, two brothers, Levin and Lester Gearhart and two sisters, Edna Reynolds and Jerry Shank. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Upper Wolf Lutheran Church south of Robinson, Kansas with burial in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Tri-County Manor or the N.E.K.
