Jerry Paul Grimmett, 63, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on May 31, 2008 at the Horton Community Hospital. He was born on September 21, 1944 in Hollywood, Florida the son of Cordie Clifford & Frances Yvonne Snow Grimmett. Jerry worked in construction in Florida most of his life, later he moved to Ohio where he lived for 12 years, then he moved to Georgia for 3 years and the last 2 years he lived in Kansas. He enjoyed fishing, making fishing lures, playing poker and Nascar racing. Jerry loved to joke, make people smile and never new a stranger. Survivors include a son, Jerry P. Grimmett Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; two stepsons, Frank Bleigh of Sidney, Ohio and Bill Bleigh of Delaware, Ohio; brothers, James Clifford Grimmett Sr. & wife Judy of Columbus, Georgia, Ronnie Melvin & wife Jeannie of North Ft. Meyers, Florida, Dink Melvin & wife Louise of Martinez, Georgia, Willard Melvin of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Mark Melvin of Ft. Meyers, Florida, William Grimmett & wife Cindy of Lee's Summit, Missouri; sister, Linda Newman of Wetmore, Kansas and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Wetmore Cemetery. Friends may call anytime at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
