John Michael McKinney, 63, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on January 16, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Thaddeus John and Bonnie Marie McKinney. John McKinney was an avid sports enthusiast he was a member of the Kickapoo tribe in Kansas and of the Prairie Band Potawatomi bloodline. He enjoyed spending time with his family and teaching his family about different sports. He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. McKinney, his two daughters Alyssa M. Sanchez and Victoria Jo-Anna Marie McKinney, brother, Joseph Paul McKinney, three sisters, Marcella Sheehey, Mary Robertson and Lisa McKinney. Numerous nieces and nephews and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Thaddeus John McKinney and Bonnie Marie McKinney and a sister Donna Jean Hibschle. A wake service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021, with visitation starting at 3:00 P.M,. at the home of Lea Gutierrez, 1145 113th Drive on the Kickapoo Reservation.
