John Daniel Ramirez, 75, of Horton, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 21, 1938 in Horton, Kansas the son of Fransico "Frank" and Paubla "Pauline" Rocha Ramirez. John worked at Rockwell International for years. He then went to work for Wagner Mud Jacking in Topeka before retiring. John was an ordained Minister and was very active in the Native American Church. He is survived by four sons, Steve Ramirez of Hiawatha, Kansas, Ron Ramirez of Horton, Kansas, Daniel Ramirez of Topeka, Kansas and Johnny Ramirez of Farmington, New Mexico; four daughters, Carla Cavin of Horton, Kansas, Rose Baker of Hiawatha, Kansas, Deb Juliff of Kansas City, Missouri and Elizabeth Newland of Hiawatha, Kansas; three brothers, Tom Ramirez of Horton, Kansas, Victor Ramirez of Independence, Missouri and Marion Ramirez of Lawrence, Kansas; sister, Juanita White of Kansas City, Missouri; twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Greg Ramirez, Benny Ramirez and Santos "Sach" Ramirez, two sisters, Agatha "Aggie" Mendez and Mary Lou Reyes, grandson, Cody Alan Baker, Great grandson, Kamillo Little Langli and son-in-law, Jim Cavin. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
