Joyce Arlene Buser, 81, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Horton Community Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1929 in Whiting, Kansas the daughter of Frank & Pearl Linnemann Banaka. She graduated from Whiting High School in 1947. On June 6, 1947 she married Ernest Buser in Soldier, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2008. She was a homemaker. She specially enjoyed spending time with her family and playing golf. Joyce was a member of the Muscotah United Church and the Horton Lakeview Country Club. Survivors include a daughter, Sue & her husband Dale Martin of Effingham, Kansas; two grandchildren, Brandy & her husband Greg Monson of Meriden, Kansas, Austin and his wife Pam Martin of Effingham, Kansas, three great grandchildren Cooper & Maxwell Monson and Madison Martin; one sister, Gerva Buser of Hiawatha, Kansas and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Netawaka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Muscotah United Church or the American Heart Association and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
