Obituary

Kathleen Joyce Gullickson Keller, 73, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, after a short illness following a recent diagnosis of lung cancer.

Born on July 10,1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, Kathy was the daughter of Weldon and Margaret Gullickson. She grew up in Dallas, Texas before moving back to Kansas at 9 years of age. Growing up with three brothers, Kathy learned to be tough and resilient with all that her brothers threw her way.

Kathy went on to have a career in the manufacturing and insurance industries, where she was known for her exceptional work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and her ability to stay on top of everything. Kathy loved music and was an accomplished vocalist, performing and using her musical talent in church ministry for most of her life.

She had a deep commitment to hospitality and caretaking, motivated by her strong Christian faith. She loved opening her home to people who needed a place to stay during life transitions; hosting celebrations and showers for family and friends; and was a faithful friend to many in their time of need.

Kathy was a devoted mother and grandmother, recently moving to Boise, Idaho to be closer to her son and his family. "Gigi Kathy" spent countless hours caring for and playing with her granddaughters, and her care and devotion to "her little girls" is her lasting legacy.

She is survived by her son Alan Keller and his wife Shanna and their daughters Harriet and Della; her mother Margaret Gullickson; her brother Ron Gullickson and his wife Nicki and their family; and her brother Mike Gullickson and his wife Theresa and their family. She was preceded in death by her father Weldon Gullickson and her brother Kevin Gullickson.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday May 2nd at Jacob's Well church in Kansas City at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Ridge2River in her memory are appreciated. Ridge2River is a 501c3 owned by her beloved family members, Anna and Eric Gullickson, working to provide a future where humans, animals and the planet can thrive in harmony. https://www.ridge2river.org/donate
