Larry Ray Joyce, 78 of Everest, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Mission Village Living Center in Horton, Kansas after being transferred there from the KU Medical Center on February 17th. He had been there since February 10th for liver cancer which was just diagnosed after he arrived there. Larry was born on January 31, 1943 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Clare and Olive Renfro Joyce. After graduating from A.C.C.H.S. in Effingham, Kansas in 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his service in the military he went to California and became a meat cutter working for years until he retired. He then moved back to Everest, Kansas in 1996. Survivors include three sisters, Frances Benjamin of Highland, California, Ada Cowley of Everest, Kansas and Clara Brown of Eldon, Missouri plus many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. As per Larry's wishes he was cremated and no services are planned. Inurnment will be at the Miller Cemetery.
