Larry Allan Patterson, 61, of rural Whiting, Kansas, passed away on March 7, 2009 at his home. He was born on June 25, 1947 in Horton, Kansas the son of Earl and Flora Beatrice Halfhide Patterson. Larry was a farmer, stockman, a self employed Truck Driver and was a school bus driver for the Jackson Heights School district. He was a member of the District #11 ABATE of Kansas and served with the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. Larry had a passion for motorcycles and International tractors. He enjoyed restoring and showing International tractors and motorcycles. Larry loved spending time visiting and sharing stories with his family and friends. On February 15, 1969 he married Mary Lively in Horton, Kansas, she survives of the home. He also survived by a son, John & his wife Sandy Patterson of Wetmore, Kansas; daughter, Tara & her husband Jared Williams of Netawaka, Kansas; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Whiting Community Building with burial at the Springhill Cemetery in Whiting, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Memorials may be sent to the Topeka V.A.
