Lenora M. Howery, 105, of Horton, Kansas, formerly of Bethany, Missouri, passed away November 21, 2009 at the Horton Community Hospital. She was born on April 27, 1904 in Tescott, Kansas the daughter of Uriah and Mary Heckert. Lenora was married to David Howery in Liberty, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a music and Spanish teacher for 38 years in the Wheatland, Mt. Moriah and Gallatin, Missouri area. Lenora was a member of the Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and P.E.O. all of Bethany, Missouri. Survivors include adopted grandson, Ronald Morris of Horton, Kansas; thirteen adopted great grandchildren; twenty seven adopted great great grandchildren; two adopted great great great grandchildren; nephew, Wesley Kholer and niece, Evelyn Godman. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joseph and two sisters, Minnie and Harriet. A private burial will be held at the Tescott, Kansas Cemetery.
