Lewis "Bud" A. Crawford Sr., 72, of Muscotah, Kansas, passed away at his home in Muscotah, Kansas on July 31, 2009 after a long illness. He was born on September 7, 1936 in Ozawkie, Kansas the son of Almar & Delpha Kennie Crawford. Lewis was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and after leaving the service he was united in marriage to Euna "Stella" White on November 17, 1957 in Fresno, California. Bud & Stella moved to Muscotah, Kansas in 1965 where they made their home for the last 44 years. He has been an active member of the Muscotah Church of Christ since 1971. Bud was employed for 37 years at Atchison Casting as an inspector, retiring in February of 1995. He is survived by his wife, Stella of the home, Muscotah, Kansas; children, Lewis & wife Cindy Crawford of Topeka, Kansas, Lisa & husband David Hartley of Willis, Kansas, Tresa & husband Scott Starkson of Mayetta, Kansas, Pam & husband Cecil Coffman of Muscotah, Kansas, April & husband John Lemon of Holton, Kansas and Micah Crawford of Salina, Kansas; 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ina Ross of Tennessee and Sharon Lenard of Iowa and a brother, Jim Crawford of Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Burial with Military Honors will be at the Muscotah Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Bud Crawford memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
