Lorene E. Liggatt, 90, of rural Muscotah, Kansas, passed away at her home on June 4, 2010. She was born on October 13, 1919 in Burr, Nebraska the daughter of Henry & Meta Hermann Rohlfs. Lorene was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka and the Whiting Senior Citizens. On August 29, 1937 she married Roy H. Liggatt in Fairview, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1968. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Liggatt and Gale Liggatt both of Muscotah, Kansas; one granddaughter, Sonya Hamilton and two great grandchildren, Cheyenne Harris and Sierra Hamilton; two nieces Carolyn Kuckelman of Topeka, Kansas and Ruth Ann Barrett of Littleton, Colorado She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Herbert Rohlfs and Leroy Rohlfs and two sisters Leona Jackson and Velma Martin. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Muscotah cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour or the Immanuel Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
