Mary E. Hale, 78, of Hiawatha, KS, formerly of Horton died Sunday morning, July 7, 2013 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.
She was a resident at Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS for a time before moving to the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha in 2011.
Mary was born November 7, 1934 in Amarillo, TX the daughter of Patrick and Letha Mae Chowing Kennedy. She grew up and attended schools there. She married Louis Hale December 11, 1974 in Wellington, TX. He survives at Maple Heights Nursing Home.
While living in Texas she worked as a Union Checker at K-Mart before deciding to stay home and take care of her family. In later years they moved to Horton, KS where she was actively involved in local bible studies.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Sandra Langham of Weatherford, TX, Linda Langham and Bruce Wanzer of Weatherford, TX, and Peggy and Tom Herrington of Las Vegas, NV, a son, Alvin Langham of Enid, OK, a brother Pat Kennedy of Fort Worth, TX, Granddaughter Angela Langham, and Great-grandchildren Sean Langham, Lane and Josie.
Mary's wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested in her name and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary 909 Central, Horton, KS 66439.
