Michael Neil Clift, 53, of Horton, Kansas, passed away March 25, 2010 at his home on the Kickapoo Reservation. He was born on November 18, 1956 in Holton, Kansas the son of Neil Gourd and Geraldine "Geri" Wahwassuck. After graduating from Powhattan High School Mike served in the U.S. Army. Michael was a photographer and had most recently worked for the Kickapoo Water Plant. He was a member of the Kahbeah United Methodist Church, Kickapoo Tribe and the Kickapoo American Legion Post #415. He is survived by his mother, Gerri Clift of Horton, Kansas; two brothers, Rick & Tom Clift both of Horton, Kansas; step mother, Mary Gourd of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sister, Susie Gourd of Tulsa, Oklahoma a uncle, aunt, nephew, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Neil Gourd. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends 1 hour prior to services. Burial and Military graveside rites by the Kickapoo American Legion will be at the Kennekuk Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation. There will be a lunch served at the Kickapoo Community Building following the burial. Memorials may be sent to the Kahbeah United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.
