Naoma Scalapino age 90, passed away on March 29, 2012, peacefully, with her children at her side. Naoma was born in Haskell, Arkansas on May 10,1921, but grew up in Horton, Kansas. She met and married Ralph (Tony) Scalapino, of Everest, on May 10, 1940. Ralph and Naoma later moved to Texas where they remained residents for the rest of their lives residing in West Texas, Austin and Houston. She volunteered in the community via the league of Women Voters in Austin and the Houston Zoo Docents and enjoyed traveling in the company of her loving husband, friends, and family. Naoma is remembered by all as a loving Mother, Grandmother(Nano) and Great Grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Agnes Kaserman, brother, L.V. Kaserman, and husband Ralph . She is survived by her daughter, Chrisy Workman and sons, Greg and Matt Scalapino. grandchildren; Lloyd Scalapino(Teresa), Robert Scalapino(Elaine), Gina Scalapino(Adam), Andrew Workman, Jacob Workman and great grandchildren; Amber, John, Matthew, Isabella, and Vincent Scalapino. The family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus Sugar Land Assisted Living and A-Med Hospice for the loving care they provided for our mother and "Nano". Services will be held at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas on April 21, 2012 at 11:00 am.
