Ralph "Eddie" Saxton, 78, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on November 11, 2013 at the Horton Community Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1935 in Horton, Kansas the son of Albert and Minnie Pearl Canter Saxton. Eddie graduated from Wetmore High School and worked as a farmhand for a few years before being drafted into the U.S. Army. After his enlistment he went to work for Rockwell International for a few years before going to work for Wilde Toole where he retired. Eddie attended the First Baptist Church in Horton. He enjoyed walking, fishing and watching sporting events. Survivors include three brothers, Mike Saxton of Sheridan, Wyoming, Howard Saxton of Horton, Kansas and Albert Saxton of Medford, Oregon; three sisters, Madeline Saxton of Sheridan, Wyoming, Marianne Gerhardt of Douglas, Wyoming and Ruby Wright of El Verta, California and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bobbie Womack and three brothers, Ronald, Virgil and Gerald Saxton. Graveside services with Military Rites will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Brush Creek Cemetery southeast of Horton, Kansas.
