Robert "Bobby" Dean Madere, 62, also known as Crazy Uncle Bob, passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. Bobby was born on October 3, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana the son of David & Betty Puckett Madere Sr. He worked for Gockel's Grocery, the Horton Hospital maintenance department, Pat's Thriftway and the Golden Eagle Casino. Most people knew him for selling fireworks at his Crazy Uncle Bob's Fireworks stand. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas. On January 8, 1972 he married Kathy Lawrence in Willis, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Madere of the home; five daughters, Brenda Sanchez of Horton, Kansas, Tana & husband Chauncey Wymer of Clearmont, Missouri, Misty & husband Shawn Trautloff of Horton, Kansas, Jamie Harris of Hiawatha, Kansas and Tonya & husband Jay Andrews of Horton, Kansas; brother, Roger Madere of Horton, Kansas; three sisters, Carol Coots of Horton, Kansas, Valerie Greene of Horton, Kansas and Linda Alexander of Ada, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Destiny Madere, two brothers, D.J. and Charles Madere, a niece and a brother in law. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas with burial at the Horton Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
