Ronald John "Knoxsah" Ramirez, 56, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Amberwell Hospital in Hiawatha, Kansas. He was born on July 17, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of John D. and Charlene Green Ramirez. Ronnie graduated from Kickapoo Nation School after graduating Ronnie worked for the Kickapoo Housing Authority and prior to that he worked for the Kickapoo Tribe maintenance department. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved family gatherings and was very proud of his nieces and nephews. Ronnie had love and compassion for everyone. He had a huge heart and was a genuine person. His warm smile, big laugh, and witty self was sure to light up any room. Most conversations would almost always end up with a good laugh due to his fun and crazy sense of humor. Anyone that came in contact with him had a friend for life. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include his companion, Sandy Green; mother, Charlene Ramirez Whitebird of Everest, Kansas; brother, Johnny Lee Ramirez of New Mexico; four sisters, Carla Ramirez Cavin of Horton, Kansas, Rose Baker of Horton, Kansas, Elizabeth Newland of Horton, Kansas and Deb Juliff of Kansas City and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, John Ramirez, brother, Stephen D. Ramirez, brother-in-law, Jim Cavin. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. this evening at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Funeral services will be at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary with burial to follow at the Kennekuk Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation.
