Santiago "Sandy" Murillo, 93, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on June 11, 2011 at the Vintage Park assisted living in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born on December 29, 1917 in Cuidad Manuel Doblado Guanajvato, Mexico the son of Alberto and Marci Anna Torrez Murillo. Sandy worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a section laborer in Morris, Kansas prior to going to work for Bingman Roller Company in Kansas City, Missouri. He then went to work as a truck driver for Watson Brothers and Yellow Freight until he retired. Sandy was a member of the St. Leo's Catholic. He married Katherine Lawrence on December 7, 1979 at Fayette, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2000. Survivors include two sisters, Felisa Ruiz and Guadalupe Salazar both of Kansas City, Missouri. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother Basilio Murillo. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the St. Leo's Catholic Church with burial at the Horton Cemetery.
