Silvia Etta Pederson, 96, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas. She was born on October 23, 1912 in Muscotah, Kansas the daughter of William and Bessie Pruitt Walker. Silvia was a homemaker, a member & Deaconess of the Christian Church in Horton, a member of the Senior Citizens, Rebeka Lodge, Royal Neighbors Lodge and sang in the Senior Citizens band. She married Homer Mayhew in 1933 in Atchison, Kansas. He passed away and then she married Harold Pederson on December 13, 1982, he also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Pauline Jacobs of Muscotah, Kansas; son, Homer Mayhew Jr. of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Ruby Royer of Arrington, Kansas; six grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, eleven other siblings, a granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
