Thomas Henry Cadue (.na na i ne na a.) 68, entered into rest Sunday June 8, 2014 at his home in Kansas City, Kansas. Tom was born on April 10, 1946 on the Kickapoo reservation, the son of Rollet Cadue and Josephine Thomas Cadue. He was a member of the Kickapoo tribe. He grew up in Mclouth, Kansas and attended Haskell University; in his later years he worked as a truck driver until his retirement.
Tom enjoyed reaching out to others, relatives and strangers alike, helping out as needed or just sitting and conversing. He was very supportive to family and friends by visiting them in hospitals and trying his best to help them feel better. He spent his retirement years in his own home and gardening. His happiest times were spent with his family and he was devoted to each and every member. Tom is survived by two daughters, Lisa Poeverlein and Tammy Cadue both of Lawrence, Kansas; a son, Steven Cadue of Lawrence, Kansas; a brother, Steve Cadue of Lawrence, Kansas; a sister, Angie Cadue of Horton, Kansas; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Geraldine Masqua, and four brothers, Virgil, Vernon, Lorenzo and Thurman Shopteese. Drum services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Kickapoo Community Building. Burial will be at 9:00 A.M. on Friday at the Kennekuk Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation.
