Tracy Ann
Long
Jan 12, 1963 — Feb 17, 2019
Horton
Theresa "Tracy" Ann Long 56 of Horton, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at KU Medical Center. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on January 12, 1963 to James and Mary (Schuetz) Clouse. Tracy quickly became a "Daddy's Girl". When her dad would swing her, she would always say "higher, swing me higher Daddy". She thought she "had wings and could fly" all on her own... well that was the beginning of her hospital stays. Tracy graduated from Horton High School in 1981, and went on to Manhattan Area Vocational Tech School where she graduated with a business degree. While working at Casey's in Horton she met the love of her life Chris Long. Chris also brought into the relationship his son Chris, and his daughter Jamie. They both loved and cared for them for many years. They married at St. Leo's Catholic Church, in Horton on July 25, 1987. A few years later they gave birth to April. From the moment their eyes met they fell in love with their beautiful baby girl, April. They moved to Topeka were Tracy worked as a receptionist at Cotton O'Neil Medical Clinic for a number of years, until she became sick and was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in 2000. Tracy enjoyed Stock Car Racing with her family as they would watch her husband (the driver) for many years. They both worked in and owned several Restaurants in the Topeka area. As the years followed she was diagnosed with kidney disease, and lung cancer that soon metastasized to the brain. She wants to be remember as the happy and healthy lady that she once was, and for us not to be saddened. Her beautiful body became sick and weak and was called home to her Heavenly Father where she will be restored and brought back into her beautiful perfect life. Her beautiful spirit will remain here with us. Survivors include her husband, Chris Long of the home, Horton, Kansas; mother, Mary Clouse of Horton, Kansas; two daughters, Jamie Lynn Long of Horton, Kansas and April Ann (Brandon) Adame of Mayetta, Kansas; son, Christopher (Jessie) Long II of Osage City, Kansas; sister, Vicky Gockel & (Bob Hauser) of Overland Park, Kansas; brother, Rick (Jeannie) Clouse of Horton, Kansas and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, James Clouse and a brother, Terry Clouse. Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Tracy Long memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
