Vivian L. Horselooking, 73, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on April 30, 2021 in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on July 25, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Calvin and Lavina Masqua Wishkeno. She is a member of the Drum Religion. She resided on the Kickapoo Reservation for most of her life. She married Alvin Horselooking Sr in 1985, then moved to St. Francis, SD. Lived there until Alvin's passing in 1998. She proudly worked for SINTE GLESKA UNIVERSITY for 12 years. She enjoyed reading, going to Pow Wows and collecting her favorite drum groups CD'S, talking to friends & relatives. Vivian graduated Horton High School and then from Ft. Lewis College in Durango CO. Vivian was actively raising two of her granddaughters who she loved very much. Her siblings are Kathy Wewenis, Rozella Snooks Ramirez, Ronnie Wewenis (all from Kickapoo Rez) and her children include Candace Wishkeno (Kickapoo Rez.), JR Mckinney (Sioux Falls, SD) Richard McKinney (Horton, KS) Alvin Jr. (Leavenworth, KS). Many grandchildren. Vivian, is preceeded in death by her Father Calvin Wishkeno (WWII Vet) and her mother Lavina Wewenis, her step-father Marcellen Buck Wewenis, her brother's Phillip (Sonny) Wewenis and Sam Wewenis, her sister Ella Mae Wishkeno. Vivian enjoyed visiting with everyone, always had a smile on her face. She was so proud of her grandchildren. Private services will be held the evening of Saturday May 1st at her Sister's house Snooks in Site 2 with burial early Sunday morning at the Wewenis Cemetery.
