William G. Foust, 73, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 5, 1939 in Horton, Kansas the son of Loyd and Jennie Leppick Foust. William graduated from Robinson High School and received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Science Education from the Kansas University. Bill taught music at Powhattan High School for a number of years prior to becoming the principal at the Hillsboro, Pittsburg and Basehor-Linewood High Schools. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hiawatha where he served on the church board. On January 30, 1960 he married Karen Hinz in Hiawatha, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Michelle (Brian) Thomas of Sterling, Colorado and Marla (Matthew) Hahn of Topeka, Kansas; a son, Mitchel Foust of Holton, Kansas; two brothers, John Foust of St. Louis, Missouri and George Foust of Boca Raton, Florida; ten grandchildren, Brandon(Sarah) Thomas, Ryan Nabard, Kristen (Matthew) Stewart, Kim (Nick) Jones, Liz Thomas, Moriah Thomas, Leah Foust, Jeremiah Foust, Maddison Hahn and Maddox Hahn; one great grandchild, Carson Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the First Baptist Family Life Center in Hiawatha, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 12:30 until service time. Friends may call anytime on Friday at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the Powhattan Cemetery.
